BANKLEY MILL STUDIOS, LEVENSHULME -
October 2016 saw the start of our second residency at Bankley Mill Studios in Levenshulme, Manchester. During the first week we put together an exhibition that consisted of works made both in situ and at our previous location in St Ives. Maxwell re-hung her piece Tug which, when nestled in the corner, provided an intimate space that visitors could walk into. Cottell re-installed her work Bath Hooks alongside her video piece filmed at Porthmeor beach. The exhibition bridged the two locations and acted as both summary and starting point. We set up shop too, another performative interaction involving an exchange over a counter: our locally sourced produce (from pound palace across the street) was available for the price of one ticket that guests received on entry. You can see more images of this performance on the page Locally Sourced Produce.
